Our goal is to produce towels that babies can eat by 2073, the 120th anniversary of our founding.
With this as our new safety standard goal, we will continue to pursue the utmost in safety.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally standardized testing and certification system for all stages of textile processing that aims to eliminate the effects of harmful substances.
All of the towels we produce have passed the most stringent Class 1 testing.
This is the reason why we say that our towels are "safe for babies to put in their mouths.
We collect all information from our partners, including the raw threads, sewing threads, embroidery threads, labels, dyes and glues that make up a single towel, and submit them to the Nissenken Quality Evaluation Center, an Oeko-Tex® certified organization, for testing.
Testing is conducted in consideration of the routes by which chemical substances can be absorbed into the body, and assumes oral inhalation (fastness to saliva) and dermal inhalation (fastness to sweat).
In addition to legally banned substances such as carcinogenic dyes, heavy metals, and pesticides, the test subjects include chemicals known to be harmful to health even if they are not regulated by law, and their safety is assessed based on evaluation criteria that are stricter than the current laws and regulations in each country.
Testing and evaluation standards are uniform throughout the world and based on scientific evidence. The list of regulated values, which is updated annually, guarantees up-to-date and absolute safety. These unwavering fundamentals ensure that Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a trustworthy testing and certification system.
ISO 22000
We review the safety of our products based on the concept that they are food products.
In 2015, the Imabari Head Factory acquired ISO-22000 certification, the safety standard for food factories.
All IKEUCHI ORGANIC products are produced in accordance with HACCP, a food safety standard.
